No new topics

We have few nice topics on the forum, only posted by Queenmab and myself. We were discussing few interesting topics there. But now I’m thinking about it and I don’t think we should post more topics unless somebody else joins. It should be a forum and a lot should take part in it. And 2 active members aren’t enough.

I’m asking old members to join again, and new members not to hesitate. And don’t worry this forum will be active for sure if more people join. I will try my very best to post more topics once more than few members join. The forum can’t be active if there were only few members.

Jane Austen’s Fight Club

I found this rubbish, but needed to update the site with something.

Forum is back

I have installed the forum all over again, which means it’s up and everyone can start posting in it. Start by introducing yourselves and then start participating.

The bad news are that all old topics we had few months ago are gone, and I couldn’t keep them, I’m sorry, but I guess it’s time for a new beginning.

I apologize again for the deleted topics and for taking so much time to bring the forum back again.

Less motivated

I know this is a personal thing I;’m going to share and some people might consider it as off topic in this website, but I’ve decided to share it anyway as the Forum is still down.

I had this course in which I’m taking Pride and Prejudice, and I had this midterm few weeks ago. Alongside Pride and Prejudice we also had Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and the Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft. When it came to Pride and Prejudice I finally showed my knowledge and my passion for this book.

The lecturer as far as I noticed, was impressed with my ideas and my knowledge of this book. I even showed some interest and intelligence while studying Frankenstein. And I was fully prepared for the mid term that was two weeks ago.  I didn’t study much for the mid term but a little as I knew the material by heart, and found out that I should be creative on the exam, and not waste my time studying irrelevant things to the exam, but to focus and be prepared for the actual moment. When the exam came I found it easier than I expected and solved it within seconds. I didn’t even had to think much about the exam and was proud to expect a good grade (perhaps not a best grade, as I didn’t want to get my hopes up too high).

When the results came out which was two days ago, I feared that moment, as a lot didn’t get a very high grade, but others which I’m better than them took some high grades. I looked at my grade and it was pretty low, I’m not ashamed to say it was 70 as I know it doesn’t represent my abilities. It was a great shock for me, as i was better than 3/4 of the whole class, and they all took higher than I did. I’ve realized that there’s a mistake or else it’s totally unfair. I wanted to go to the office of my lecturer, but I was in a bad mood and was angry enough not go, so I made an appointment with her for another time. At least I’ll be calm and much more reasonable.

I know the thing I just wrote is off topic, but as the forum is down, and I’m trying to fix it with no use.

The Forum is down

For some reasons the forum is down and not available. I’m still working on it.

The forum was by the way the most active place on this fan site, so I hope I manage fixing it.

Meanwhile, leave comments and dont forget to come back again later to check on the forum.

A New design

I just made a new design for this fan site (yes I made it using some software), and have noticed that this site needs more visitors. The forum hasn’t been active for over two weeks which I found shocking, and I’m sick of visiting it alone.

I would like to take this chance to ask people who are interested in volunteering  to develop the website, or give new ideas.

First Impressions

No, I’m not going to talk about the first draft of Pride and Prejudice, which was titled First Impressions for those who don’t know. I’m going to talk about getting a first impression on this website.

DON’T JUDGE THE FANSITE BY FIRST IMPRESSION. I know this website seems empty, and I know it’s my fault, but don’t forget that it’s utterly new and I don’t really have time right now to update it and fill it with all kind of information and stuff. But I promise I’ll start working on it on Tuesday, the 2nd semester starts and I’m excited for it, even though I won’t be really having time, but at least I wouldn’t be under pressure from so much big exams and essays.

Again, don’t make a first impression on the website, or the forum, because a good website isn’t born good, it’s developed. and think about it this way, if the fan site was perfect then “there will be no room for development”. And still, I need your help to join the forum, and make it active, there are plenty of things to be discussed about, and I have plenty of questions to ask about Austen.

For those who are interested in being part of the website admins/ co-admins or whatever, you can contact me by this email : wohow_arwen@yahoo.com .

Enjoy your stay and don’t forget to come back again later, and INVITE PEOPLE TO JOIN!
